Anxiety and Burnout Therapy for Young Professionals in Houston
You’re Successful. You’re Also Exhausted.
You’re doing well on paper. You meet deadlines. You respond to emails. You show up for work and for the people in your life. But your mind never really turns off. There’s a constant voice telling you that you should be doing more, achieving more, staying productive. Even when you try to relax, you feel restless or guilty. The pressure to perform in your career, keep relationships steady, and “figure it out” in your twenties or thirties feels nonstop. You might look high-functioning from the outside, but internally you’re exhausted from overthinking and always feeling one step behind where you think you should be.
When Anxiety Turns Into Burnout.
At some point, pushing through stops working. The constant mental pressure starts to feel heavier. You wake up tired even after sleeping. Work that used to feel manageable now feels draining. Small decisions take more energy than they should. You might not be falling apart, but you can tell you cannot keep operating like this indefinitely.
If this sounds familiar, you do not have to keep handling it alone.
Therapy That Helps You Slow Down Without Losing Your Edge
You do not need to become less ambitious to feel less anxious. In our work together, we look at the patterns driving your productivity, the beliefs tying your worth to output, and the cost of constantly operating at full speed. We build practical time boundaries that protect your energy without sabotaging your goals. We experiment with ways to rest that do not trigger guilt. And we explore who you are outside of performance, so your identity is not entirely dependent on achievement. The goal is not to make you passive. It is to make your drive sustainable.
What Changes When Anxiety Stops Running the Show
Instead of constant mental noise, you experience more clarity. Decisions feel lighter. You stop replaying conversations long after they are over. Work still matters, but it no longer dictates your entire sense of worth. Rest becomes restorative instead of guilt-inducing. You are still driven, but you are not constantly bracing for what might go wrong.
If you’re ready to feel focused and steady again, we can start there.
Common Questions About Anxiety Therapy
How do I know if my anxiety is “serious enough” for therapy?
Anxiety does not have to be debilitating to deserve attention. Many of the people I work with are functioning well at work and in relationships, but feel mentally exhausted, restless, or constantly on edge. If your mind rarely slows down, you struggle to relax without guilt, or you feel burned out from overthinking, therapy can help before things escalate.
What’s the difference between stress and anxiety?
Stress is usually tied to a specific situation, such as a deadline, conflict, or major decision. Once the situation resolves, the stress tends to decrease. Anxiety is more persistent. It can linger even when things are going relatively well, and often shows up as constant overthinking, muscle tension, difficulty relaxing, or a sense that something might go wrong. Many high-functioning professionals experience chronic anxiety that feels like “just stress,” until it becomes exhausting or unsustainable.
Will therapy make me less ambitious?
No. The goal is not to reduce your drive. It is to make it sustainable. We focus on separating your self-worth from constant productivity, building boundaries that protect your energy, and helping you stay focused without running on chronic stress. Most clients find they perform better when anxiety is not driving everything.
Is this therapy for burnout or anxiety?
Burnout and anxiety are often closely connected. Many high-functioning professionals come to therapy feeling exhausted, unmotivated, or mentally drained, only to realize that chronic overthinking and constant internal pressure have been driving that exhaustion for years. In our work together, we look at both the burnout and the anxiety underneath it. The goal is not just temporary relief, but creating a more sustainable way to work, think, and live.
What is anxiety therapy like?
Our sessions are collaborative and practical. We look at the patterns behind your overthinking, the beliefs fueling pressure, and the habits that keep you in a constant state of mental tension. Depending on your goals, we may use evidence-based approaches such as CBT, ACT, or DBT-informed strategies, along with structured conversations that help you think more clearly and act more intentionally.
Do you offer in-person anxiety therapy in Houston?
Yes. I offer in-person sessions in the Museum District of Houston, as well as virtual therapy for clients located anywhere in Texas. Walk-and-talk sessions are also available for clients who prefer a more active format.
How often do we meet?
Most clients start with weekly sessions. As progress builds and symptoms become more manageable, we can adjust frequency based on your goals and schedule.
What are your fees?
I am a private-pay therapist and also accept Lyra. Sessions are $190 per 50-minute session. During a brief consultation, we can discuss fees, availability, and whether working together feels like a good fit.
Ready to Feel Steady Again?
You do not have to keep managing anxiety on your own. If you are feeling burned out, mentally overloaded, or stuck in constant overthinking, we can start there. Therapy can be a place to slow down, think clearly, and build a way of working and living that does not cost you your peace.
