About Keil Davis, LPC
Founder of HTX Counseling & Wellness
Iām Keil Davis, a licensed professional counselor and the founder of HTX Counseling & Wellness. I work with teens and adults in Houston who are seeking support for anxiety, depression, stress, and life transitions.
I have over 12 years of experience as a counselor, and my work is primarily informed by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I help clients develop clarity, build psychological flexibility, and take meaningful steps toward the life they want to live.
My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded. I aim to meet you where you are and move at a pace that feels respectful and sustainable.
My Approach to Therapy
I do not believe in one-size-fits-all therapy. Our work is shaped by your goals, your values, and what feels most helpful to you.
In therapy, I help clients:
Make space for emotions without becoming overwhelmed by them
Untangle from unhelpful thought patterns that keep them feeling stuck
Show up more fully in their lives, even when things feel uncomfortable
Clarify what matters most and take steps aligned with those values
While my work is informed by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, you do not need to learn technical frameworks or terminology. What matters is how therapy supports you in feeling steadier, freer, and more like yourself.
The Therapeutic Relationship
Therapy is not only about tools or techniques. Real change happens within a safe, authentic relationship.
ACT emphasizes psychological flexibility, the ability to stay present, connect with what matters, and take meaningful action even in the presence of pain. These skills develop through experience, not in isolation.
In our work together, the therapeutic relationship becomes a place where you can:
Practice showing up as you are
Notice patterns that once helped you cope but may no longer serve you
Explore your inner world with curiosity and compassion
Through this process, therapy offers more than insight. It offers the experience of being accepted and supported while trying something new. Over time, that experience can extend beyond therapy and into your relationships and daily life.
Outside the Therapy Room
Outside of my work as a counselor, I enjoy spending time in nature and on the tennis court. I also enjoy woodworking and learning about history. These interests reflect the same values I bring into therapy: presence, patience, and respect for process.
