Get Connected with a Counselor in Houston

The struggle is real. The pandemic tested us in so many ways. A lot of us lost family or friends, some lost jobs, social circles, motivation, discipline, and routines. Some of us lost our minds. We all lost some of the resilience that we had spent a lifetime building. Tons of adjustment is being required coming out of quarantine. For those who got comfortable with the slow days, working from home, isolation, and limited social interaction, they now have to re-adjust as people are being asked to come back into the office, friends are wanting to hang out, and things are opening up again.

You’re here, on this page, because you’re struggling with something. I’m assuming you’ve tried a lot of different things to change how you feel and haven’t had much luck. I get it. Change is difficult, it’s tough, but know that we want to help you. You’re not alone in this.

What to expect out of counseling with us

Counseling with us consists of you coming in and engaging in conversation that will aim to accomplish whatever goal or goals that are set that day, week, or month by you. Sometimes unforeseen goals are reached and new realizations or epiphanies are made by what seems like accident. In reality, these new perspectives on life are the result of sitting down with someone trained in the art of conversation and who has a genuine interest in not only helping you but getting to know you. Connecting dots can be hard when done from a singular perspective. It is my belief that it is these new understandings of life that help us shift our perspective and our life stories that fit a narrative that’s more in line with what you want out of life.

That’s not to say it is all Bob Ross paintings and Lisa Frank trapper keepers. It can be tough, it can get ugly, it’s a brave step to reach out to someone for help and invite change into your life. It is not uncommon for emotions like shame, guilt, embarrassment, resentment, anger, regret, etc. to come up during these conversations. These emotions that have been pushed down, for good reason and for a long time, can start to surface. The good news is that you have someone to help you through it, someone who holds you in unconditional positive regard, who respects you, and who you can trust to be authentic, compassionate, and understanding.

Sometimes goals consist of getting through a particular situation in life that might be job-related, maybe family or relationship related, or you’re just in a funk and don’t know why. You know when you know when it comes to needing change. Get started with a counselor and let us help you find peace again…
